Tasty Tipbits

When buying food for children under the age of one, organic makes virtually no difference to the quality of the ingredients. What’s really important is looking out for what happens when the food is cooked. Look for brands that have no added salt and sugar, and are additive and GM free – like ours – and that only include the ingredients you would use in your own recipes. Always steer clear of recipes that include gums and modified starches.

Have you tried…?

  • Serving the vegetable purées with a Babylicious main meal
  • Mixing equal amounts of two Babylicious vegetable purées together for a taste variation
  • Adding more texture with baby pasta shapes, mashed peas or potato, cous cous or rice
  • Serving a Kiddylicious meal with a small side salad of cucumber and carrot sticks or garlic bread
  • Stirring in a few cubes of the Babylicious fruit purées into breakfast porridge or yoghurt to add natural sweetness instead of sugar

This month's recipe

OmeletteThanks to Rosie Stapleton who has sent us this quick n’ easy recipe. Rosie says her 20 month old twins love their omelette cut up into 1” squares with a slice of scrunched up honey roast ham on and then topped with another omelette square. Hey presto! - a super, cheesy scoopy-snack, packed full of protein, highly nutritious and extremely simple to prepare.

Why not try using other combinations of chopped vegetables or meat as fillings for your omelette; potato, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, sweetcorn kernels, spinach, mushrooms, peppers, bacon, tuna, prawns, chicken, ham... the list is endless!

We would love to know more of your fantastic recipies so why not tell us about them and you could end up being featured in our Tasty-Tipbit section!
