Get our meals delivered to your holiday destination this summer
If you’re going on holiday in the UK this summer, don’t spend the whole time cooking. Remember, you’re meant to be getting a break too! So why not order some of our Babylicious and Kiddylicious meals to be delivered to your holiday destination. Just make sure you have a freezer wherever you’re staying. Order today.

Are we there yet? Healthy travel snacks to make the journey fly
Whether you’re travelling by plane, train, boat or car to your holiday spot this summer, you’re going to need something to keep little tummies full and little fingers occupied. There’s nothing like a tasty snack to keep a boredom-induced tantrum at bay – but giving them loads of junk is likely to make their behaviour even worse. Add these snack ideas to your travel bag:

  • Snackylicious Apple Crisps – obviously we’d put these at the top of the list, but they’re not messy, easy to carry and count as one of their five-a-day
  • Raisins or dried apricots
  • Veg sticks – carrots, cucumber, peppers or cherry tomatoes
  • Bread sticks, rice cakes or strips of pita bread
  • Tubs of dry cereal like cheerios
  • Marmite sandwiches – marmite is the perfect spread for sandwiches eaten on the move. It’s not sticky like jam or peanut butter and can’t be pulled apart like cheese or ham. Cut into ‘soldiers’, they’re perfect for little hands to hold
  • Individually wrapped cubes of cheese
  • Gingernut biscuits – good for travel sickness
  • Boxes of juice or bottled water

And speaking of holidays, here’s a reminder of how you can win one
Competition You could win a one week all inclusive holiday in Austria for a family of four from Kinderhotels worth £2000! Based in the beautiful Austrian Alps, Kinderhotels are designed with kids in mind. English-speaking childminders are available to look after children from as young as 7 days old and all guests get up to 60 hours a week of free baby and childcare. They also provide all the necessary baby equipment so you can travel light and provide nutritious, well balanced children’s meals. And while the kids are having fun playing in secure soft play areas and with age appropriate toys, you can relax next to a swimming pool, take a walk through amazing countryside or get in a round of golf. For more information on Kinderhotels go to www.kinderhotels.co.uk.

To enter this amazing competition, simply recommend a friend to receive our Food 4 Thought newsletter. The competition closes on 31 December 2007 so feel free to send us friend’s names throughout the year.

Snacking for a good cause
On 4 July, the Amazing Great Children’s Party was held for children with leukaemia. Six thousand deserving children were treated to a day of amusement rides, live performances, games, lots of fun - and bags of Snackylicious Apple Crisps. Our healthy snacks went down a treat – but most importantly, the children had a fabulous day. Leukaemia is Britain’s biggest childhood cancer. To find out how you can help beat this devastating illness, go to www.leukaemia.org.

Want to be a Licious-Mum?
Calling all you amazing ‘Licious-Mummies’, (and daddies too)!

Hi, I am Rebecca. I am creating a Babylicious posse to help us spread the word and tell other mums (& dads) all about our fab products. As I am sure you know, Babylicious was created by a mum of 2 small children, to help make other busy mums lives a whole lot easier, and judging by what you have all told us – we have done just that!

I am looking to pull together a passionate group who love our products, have a great social life with other parents and want to tell their mates, over a cup of tea and slice of cake, all about the ‘Licious products’, (bit like Tupper Ware parties, but without the Tupper wear!)

If this interests you and we can bribe you with a free case of our amazing Snackylicious apple crisps (and other goodies), contact me NOW at rebecca@babylicious.co.uk with your name, address (including Post Code) and telephone number, and we can tell you more.

Rebecca

Time for you

Skin deep – how pregnancy plays havoc with your skin
We spend so much time looking after our children we often neglect ourselves. So this month we thought we’d spend some time on you. If you’re pregnant or perhaps have recently had a baby, you might have noticed some changes to your skin.

Skin can change dramatically during pregnancy and often these changes and symptoms are displayed after the birth of your baby. Everyone is different and women experience different changes in their skin during pregnancy. Some may have the best complexion ever whilst others may experience very dry or very oily skin for the first time in their lives. Clinical aromatherapist Lesley Kerr of www.kerbally.com provides insight into the most common skin changes during pregnancy and what you can do to prevent them. Read more here.

You can win a £45 gift voucher to spend on Kerbally products.

Feedback

Congratulations to Jo Cornock of Worcester who won three month’s worth of Snacklylicious Apple Crisps simply by recommending a friend to us. Happy crunching!

We recently got this feedback from Deborah Logue of Essex:
I would like to congratulate you on your wonderful range of Babylicious food! I don't normally shop in Sainsburys but happen to pop in there last week and stumbled across your range. I normally cook my babies food but sometimes I just don't have time, so I though I'd give them a try. I bought the cottage pie and lasagne and when I cooked them they smelt great. My little boy loved them! The only "negative" was he needed 5 cubes to fill him. I tasted them and found it refreshing to taste baby food that was full of flavour. Thank you! We look forward to trying the rest of the range.

Thanks for that great feedback Deborah. To make your Babylicious meals go further for your hungry little man, try adding cous cous, tiny pasta shapes or mashed potato. To encourage self feeding, you could also give him strips of bread for dipping into the meals.

On a different note, we’re often asked why we don’t introduce new flavours and recipes, particularly more vegetarian options. We’d love to and have loads of ideas, but the challenge is getting the supermarkets to stock them. They will only take a limited range, which makes expanding our range a very costly exercise. It is something we constantly look at though, so if you have any suggestions for new recipes, please send them our way. We can’t guarantee to create them in the near future, but we’ll certainly bear them in mind as we evolve our product line. Send us your ideas.
